The Waiting City will see its premiere at the Toronto Internationa Film Festival. Here’s some info about the movie:
To adopt a child is to wait, and to wait in a city far from home can be an exciting thing – or a test of all one’s resources. In the case of Claire McCarthy’s epic, glistening new feature, those on hold are a young Australian couple, Fiona (Radha Mitchell) and Ben (Joel Edgerton), who arrive in Kolkata to claim their adopted child.
Outwardly happy and connected, Ben and Fiona are nonplussed when they discover that their adoption arrangements have hit some bureaucratic snags, even when their Western-style problem-solving skills prove ineffective at helping the situation along. As they dig in for a long wait, they comfort themselves with the assurance that their new daughter Lakshmi, whose picture they have cherished for months, will still be theirs. So, they wait: Fiona works from her laptop while Ben ventures out into the city in search of new experiences and friends. One of these new-found acquaintances is Scarlett (Isabel Lucas), a girl whose easy acclimatization to the rhythms of Kolkata seems to match Ben’s own.

Hollywood-based Australian beauty Isabel Lucas is to star in a multi-million dollar tourism campaign showcasing Victoria as the nation’s premium indulgence and wellbeing destination.
The $7.3 million Daylesford – Lead a Double Life – campaign will kick off tomorrow night on television screens around Australia.
In the TV advertisement, Lucas explores the dual attractions of the region by frolicking at a decadent soiree by night and recovering the next day with a stroll through the countryside and a dip in the natural mineral springs.
Tourism Minister Tim Holding said the state’s industry had held up better than anywhere else in the nation through the global financial crisis.
Josh Hutcherson, Isabel Lucas, Connor Cruise and Edwin Hodge are the newest Wolverines to join MGM/UA’s Red Dawn remake.
They join Chris Hemsworth, Josh Peck and Adrianne Palicki in the revamp of the 1984 action movie about a group of teenagers who form an insurgency when their town is invaded — this time by Chinese and Russian soldiers.
Hutcherson will play Robert, originated by C. Thomas Howell, and become the group’s tech geek. Lucas is Erica, head cheerleader and the Peck character’s girlfriend whom he desperately hopes to spring from an internment camp. Lea Thompson played the character in the original.
Cruise is playing Daryl, the son of Spokane’s mayor and Robert’s best friend. And Hodge will play Danny, the coolest kid in school and star wide receiver who helps establish the resistance.
The young cast heads off in a few weeks for military training in an undisclosed location.
